Wellington is a small town situated in The Nilgiris district in the southern state of Tamil Nadu. Located just 17.2 km from the illustrious hill station of Ooty also known as Udhagamandalam or Ootacamundand (approximately 40 minutes via NH 67), 70.1 km from Coimbatore (1 hour 58 minutes via NH 67) and 542.8 km from the southern metropolis of Chennai (9 hours 21 minutes via NH 45), Wellington is a scenic destination.

Wellington town is linked by road to the Manchester of South India, Coimbatore through Mettupalayam, and to Bengaluru through Udhagamandalam, Mysuru and Bandipur in the neighboring state of Karnataka. The rail transportation from Wellington town is operated in the form of a hill train from Mettupalayam to Wellington and a broad gauge train from Kovai to Mettupalayam.
